SMEPS provides training to 50 tomato farms in Lahej

Under the title "Developing the Use of Improved Agricultural Inputs to Tomato Farmers in Lahej Governorate", Small and Micro Enterprises Promotion Services (SMEPS) Agency, a subsidiary of the Social Fund for Development,

Under the title "Developing the Use of Improved Agricultural Inputs to Tomato Farmers in Lahej Governorate", Small and Micro Enterprises Promotion Services (SMEPS) Agency, a subsidiary of the Social Fund for Development, held during the period 16–21 November 2011 a training course for 50 tomatoes farmers in Lahej, which comes as part of Tomouhi (My Ambition) Program's projects.

The course aims to analyze the value chain in improving agricultural production and introduce farmers in the governorate to improved agriculture-production process using modern technology in producing improved seeds and seedlings, leading to increased crop at the highest standards and with the lowest loss. The event also aimed to educate farmers on how to deal with weeds & pests and modern irrigation method.

The organizers of the course, which included theoretical and practical aspects, distributed 250 thousand tomato seedlings for participating farmers.
